Asset classes
MTAA Super invests across all major asset classes. An asset class is a grouping of similar financial/physical assets. The main asset classes are shares, property, fixed interest and cash; these in turn can be broken down to include Australian or international shares, unlisted shares and private equity, Australian or international fixed interest, and direct or indirect property investments, including infrastructure. All asset classes have different risk and return characteristics.
