No. 1 for long-term performance

The only true test of performance is time.  And right now, the long-term performance of your super is more important than ever.

MTAA Super's Balanced Option has once again been ranked for investment performance1 as number 1 over 10, 7, 5 and 3 years and number 3 over 1 year.2

The Growth and Conservative Options have also been ranked very highly in the SuperRatings3 survey, both having positive crediting rates along with the Target Return and Cash Options.

Stay focused on the long term

It's been a tough and challenging year for world financial markets.  Every sector of the market has been affected including all Australian superannuation funds, which have recorded an average crediting rate for their Balanced Option (or equivalent) of negative 6.39%. MTAA Super's Balanced Option crediting rate of negative 2.13% for 2007/08 was significantly higher than this average.

Like most Australians, many MTAA Super members have their super invested across a wide range of assets, including shares, and have been affected by this global downturn.

Despite a long period of positive growth, the share market in particular, is subject to fluctuations. It is for this reason you should view the investment performance of your super over the long term, not just weeks or months.

MTAA Super aims to maximise long term returns

MTAA Super aims to maximise long-term returns, whilst providing some protection against downturns in listed markets.  To achieve this goal, MTAA Super has two distinct portfolio's, the Market Linked Portfolio and the Target Return Portfolio. The aim of this two portfolio strategy is to reduce the impact of difficult investment conditions, while producing attractive returns during favourable times.
