Finding your lost super
Some people accumulate many different superannuation accounts and then lose track of them. This can result in benefits being transferred to a special 'eligible rollover fund', where the rate of earnings might be lower than with a normal superannuation fund.
There are several ways to check if you think you might have lost superannuation:
- Contact AUSFund on 1300 361 798 or unclaimedsuper.com
- Call MTAA Super on 1300 362 415 and we will search the lost members register on your behalf
- Call the Australian Taxation Office's Superannuation Infoline on 13 28 65 and ask them to search the lost members register for you or contact them at www.ato.gov.au/super
- Contact your state or territory government. It has an unclaimed monies register that can be checked for you.
- Contact your former employers and ask for your records. Your union might also be able to help.
All these services are free.
